Derek Bly, Practicum Placement Specialist, Centre for Applied Management, Lethbridge College
Topic – The Value of the Practicum Placement Work Experience Each year students in a variety of programs at the college are required to complete a work experience as part of their studies. While students benefit from the practicum, qualified hosts can also gain from providing a brief work experience for a student. Presenter – Derek Bly Derek Bly has been employed at Lethbridge College for more than 10 years. With a background in the media industry, he served as Communications Coordinator at the college for a number of years, before deciding to take his career down a different path. He is currently in his fourth year working as a practicum placement specialist in the college’s This position allows him to work more closely with individual students and assist them in the pursuit of their career goals. One of Derek’s goals in his role is to ensure a smooth and positive practicum work experience for hosts, students and the college.
