“How to Respond Effectively when interviewed by the Media.”

 

Have you ever been called upon by the media to represent your organization or business? If so, you have a great opportunity to get your message out to the public. But how do you do that effectively? Dealing with reporters, cameras and tight time parameters can be hard on the nerves leaving you wishing someone else had volunteered for the role. Don’t worry. Relax. There are just a few things to remember to ensure your message gets out the way you intended it to.

Sheila Nykwist has been a producer and host of ShawTV Lethbridge for four years. She graduated with a bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson University in Toronto. Besides her involvement in local media she is also an active Toastmaster, striving to further her communication skills.
