
Janelle
Marietta is the Executive Director of United Way Lethbridge & South Western
Alberta, an internationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to
reducing poverty, improving the lives of children and youth, and building
strong, healthy communities.
With 15 years of experience in the non-profit
sector, Janelle knows the importance of working hard to facilitate positive
outcomes in the community. Born and raised in Southern Alberta, and having
obtained her Bachelor degree in marketing with a social responsibility minor at
the University of Lethbridge, and going on to complete an MSc in Management
with a focus in social marketing, Janelle is a proud University of Lethbridge
Alumni with strong ties to the Lethbridge community. She continues to collaborate on research that
focuses in social marketing, non-profit, poverty reduction, disability rights, immigration,
decolonization, and anti-racism.
Janelle has served on multiple Boards and
committees, including People First of Canada, the Alberta Poverty Reduction
Network, Community Social Development with the City of Lethbridge, the
Lethbridge Diversity and Inclusion Alliance, and the Social Health Equity
Network of Lethbridge and Area. Having worked and volunteered with many local
and national non-profit organizations, Janelle has a strong understanding of the
non-profit sector and what it takes to create collective impact and improve
outcomes in our community.
